ANDREAS KOUNDOURAKIS

MODEL

Andreas Koundourakis was raised in Belgium by a Greek father and a Moroccan mother, he lives in Athens. From a young age his biggest passion and talent was football. For many years his biggest goal was to become a professional football player but things didn’t work out as he planned. Besides football, he loved watching movies and following the last fashion trends. That is how he decided to start doing acting workshops. Later on, this got him into the acting and modelling industry. Andreas works as an actor and model in multiple TV series, commercials and brand campaigns in different countries.

What was your favourite toy that you still remember from your childhood? Why?

I was never really a ‘toy boy’ 🙂 But I always had a ball with me so i was sure I could play football anywhere and anytime. Besides this, I remember I was a big fan of the ‘power rangers’. When my mother bought my first ‘power rangers’ movie in 1997, I was the happiest kid on earth. I was playing the red ranger which was the leader of the group, not knowing that I was already into acting.

What is your dressing style about?

It’s all about my identity. I love fashion and i love to see people with their own and unique style. Now I am in a vintage flow with a lot of pieces from the 90’s but in general I love to wear urban streetwear with a combination of different colours.

What is the coolest piece in your wardrobe?

Cool doesn’t have to be expensive, just as expensive is not always cool. I have two 90’s Kappa sweatpants which i want to wear every day, a Levi’s oversized jean jacket which I customised myself and I have one dope piece from my friend designer LaQuan Smith.

If there is any style icon you follow, who is it and why?

I follow all the biggest fashion brands and I appreciate a lot of fashion designers and icons. If I have to choose one, I would say my taste matches more with the Columbian singer Maluma so I often get some inspiration of his styling. He dresses very classy, sometimes sexy or just totally urban which defines me 100%.

What is your favourite decorative object in your house?

I actually I don’t know… The truth is that i travel so much that I am living more in hotels or different apartments then in my own. Giving me a comfortable bed and a large TV anywhere, I guess is my favourite.

Which neighbourhood in Athens is your favourite one? Why?

I think every corner of the the city is amazing with it’s own charm but let me say I live in my favourite neighbourhood in Athens that is Glyfada. A lot of people see Glyfada as the Beverly Hills of Athens where people are going to see and to be seen. But I think it’s just a great neighbourhood where the centre and seaside have a perfect meeting point. The sea is my oxygen so drinking my coffee while watching and smelling sea is all I need to be happy.

What is your favourite place in Athens? Why?

I am a big fan of hip-hop music so I enjoy going out to Lohan Club on Sundays and I love Mexican food and latin atmosphere at El Catrin in Glyfada.

Can you name three must things to do in Athens?

First of all, check out the Acropolis. Walk through all the historical sites in the city and imagine how ancient Greeks were living here and were walking same spots as you. Then catch a game of football club Olympiakos FC in their stadium and you will understand what it means to have a passion for football. What a crazy atmosphere! And finally, head to south part of Athens, have a nice cold coffee at Nalu Cafe in front of the sea and go for a lunch for seafood in Vouliagmeni.

What was the coolest country, city or place to have the best fun ever? What did you do?

I visited Los Angeles for the first time an I fell in love suddenly. Thats why I decided to have a tattoo about the city. Hiking to the Hollywood sign, strolling around walk of fame with all the Hollywood stars and street artists, feeling the vibe at the art district Melrose Avenue or riding a bike through Venice Beach during sunset. This city is just too cool to mention every single among ‘must-see’ ones.

How do you spent your home stay these days?

I am challenging myself to get fitter and better out of this quarantine, then i was before. I workout a lot. I develop my acting skills with online classes. I watch one cool movie a day and I make music with my guitar 🙂
