INTERVIEW / ALEXANDER KOKO

What was your favorite toy that you still remember from your childhood? Why?

I remember a speeding car from my childhood that was running on 8 batteries, so that was my favorite toy. It was gifted to me after my tonsil operation, but my father did not like it very much, because I constantly asked him to buy me the batteries. I used to play with it all day long!

What is your dressing style?

Actually I do not have such dressing codes. I usually wear what I feel comfortable in, but I can say that I am more into Street style. Hoodies are my indispensables, they fill most of my closet. I generally follow fashion closely, I examine the new season products of the brands I love, but if it does not look good on me, I don’t feel good wearing it.

What is the coolest piece in your wardrobe?

Actually, there are a few pieces that I fall in love with, but I think the coolest is Sandro Paris tan suede inner brown wool leather coat.

If there is any style icon you follow, who is it and why?

There is no style icon in particular that I follow, but there are a few people from abroad whose style I like via IG. I find my style close to them and we even have the same common clothes most of the time.

What is your favorite decorative object in your house?

Most of the objects in my place are made by me. For example; my TV unit, dresser, paintings, and the last coffee table as well. I think the last coffee table I made is my favorite furniture piece, it is like my new  baby!

Which neighborhood in İstanbul is your favorite one? Why?

My favorite neighborhood in Istanbul is Bebek. I love to walk there, listen to music, sit in a place and have some coffee or food, and I often do this. The beauty of the Bosphorus has always attracted me there.

What is your favorite place in İstanbul? Why?

Since I am a hamburger monster, my favorite place will be Akali in Visnezade. But apart form that, I love to discover small restaurants or cafes located between a street and a corner on the coast, that have an incredible tastes.

What was the coolest country, city or place to have the best fun ever? What did you do?

My favorite place is definitely Berlin! This great city is the capital of art & entertainment. Because of my profession, I had the chance to see the works of many artists there. It was very enjoyable. When it comes to nightlife, none of my friends could see the insight of Berghain but I was lucky enough to get inside through a very picky door (you know it) and I spent 2 great days there partying!
