For the fist time ever, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul was streamed totally digital. GOKHAN YAVAS presents his SS 2020-21 Collection ‘Regular Weird’ that is inspired by a lifetime, the music and the voice of one of the greatest names in the music world, Janis Joplin.
Talented designer dedicates all the pieces from this collection to Janis’ 50th Anniversary since her departure from this world. The spirit of the 70s era that dominates the entire collection is very nostalgic. Psychedelic elements and retro figures take us back to Janis’ spirit during her concerts. Checked jacket-short sets, embroidered bomber jackets and trousers, leather shorts, daisy embroidered t-shirts and jeans, hooded shirts with slogans, striped blazer jackets, tie-dye jean jackets and loose coupled pants are among the main items in the collection. Retro sunglasses, brooches and patterned scarves are among the most striking accessories. When it comes to colors; we occasionally come across with reds, yellows and dark blues, all dominated by grays and beiges.
