Cool People: Interview With Actress Hande Doğandemir
Hande Doğandemir is an actress, TV host and sociologist who is based in Istanbul. Hande made her cinematic debut with an important role in ‘Telling Tales’ (‘Bana Masal Anlatm’a), a film directed and written by Burak Aksak. Her latest new movie “A Better Life” will be released on June 14. Interviewed by our editor-in-chief Oben Budak, Hande Doğandemir is one of the coolest girls in town. What was your favorite toy that you remember from your childhood?
I had an elephant toy. To be honest, I didn’t know why but when I was little, everyone used to bring me elephants! I loved the elephants and we had a special bond between us!
How would you name your clothing style?
I definitely can’t wear anything I don’t feel comfortable in.
What’s the coolest piece in your wardrobe?
Zeynep Tosun’s bra and jacket recently, her designs have a style that I really like.
What is your morning care routine?
I start my morning routine by washing my face first of all with a cleansing foam and later with rose water. After this procedure I apply Ino cosmetics. The moisturizer can be used for both, therapeutic purposes and also for sunbathing. It is also my favorite product because it contains pure marine collagen.
What is your favorite decorative object in your home?
I have the Shahmaran painting that I got from Mardin and the ceramic trinacria I bought from Taormina, both of them are placed on the wall On top of each other. They are both very similar and not similar at all. I love looking at them at once.
Are you a summer person or a winter person?
Actually, I would say spring is neither too hot nor too cold for me. But of course spring and summer months are very good. When the sun shines, my energy immediately changes and I feel hopeful.
What is your favorite neighborhood and place in Istanbul? Why?
I love Kadıköy, Moda, Fenerbahçe and Dalyan. It’s not quite like Istanbul. It feels like I’m living in another city because all this places all located near by the beach. We usually have the best time with my dog on the beach!
Which country, city or place have you had the most fun so far? What did you do?
I love traveling very much! The more I travel and see new places, the more meaningful everything becomes. That’s why a country I’m going to for the first time always gives me excitement. It’s so much fun to explore the unknown. Last time I did Bologna, Florence and Rome route before New York – Miami and I loved it! And ofcourse, now Athens is on my next route.
