What was your favorite toy that you still remember from your childhood? Why?
I have always been crazy about airplanes since I was a kid. I’ve been collecting model airplanes for as long as I can remember, starting with my very first memory. Now, I have a collection of over 140 planes. I believe this passion for airplanes is the main reason for my love of travel.
What is your dressing style?
I used to be a big fan of colorful neon clothes, but my style has completely changed over time. Now, I prefer plain colors, especially white or black. I often add a specific pop of color to an otherwise all-white or all-black outfit. Like many others, I’ve also become a sneaker addict.
What is the coolest piece in your wardrobe?
The coolest piece in my wardrobe is a waistcoat I found in a vintage store in Sedona, Arizona. I fell in love with the vintage shops there.
What is your daily grooming routine?
My daily grooming routine isn’t very specific. I don’t wash my hair with shampoo and rarely use products, but I use L’Oreal Paris Studio Line 6 to shape my hair when I do. Mostly, I just use my fingers to twist and style it.
If there is any style icon you follow, who is it and why?
I don’t have one specific style icon, but I like to draw inspiration from many sources, including movies. One of my favorite influences is the character Dickie from the movie The Talented Mr. Ripley. His outfits really influenced my style.
What is your favorite decorative object in your house?
I love collecting maps, and these unique pieces add a lot of character and history to my home.
Which neighborhood in Istanbul is your favorite one? Why?
“It’s hard to choose because Istanbul changes a lot with its ups and downs. Every time I visit, my perspective shifts. However, to answer safely, I would say my favorite neighborhoods are Galata and Pera. Walking through these areas, you immerse yourself in history and culture. Additionally, I know all esnaf (the local small business owners) which changes everything totally.
What is your favorite place in the world? Why?
Oh, this is also hard because I have been to more than 80 countries. However, Brazil and South Africa always hold a special place in my heart. I love cities like Rio de Janeiro and Cape Town, which are surrounded by nature and mountains. You can enjoy the vibrant city life and easily escape into nature. I especially love hiking to the peaks and watching sunsets, and these cities are some of the best for that.
What was the coolest country, city or place to have the best fun ever? What did you do?
For sure, the top answer is Brazil. This country is insane, and I love the energy there. I’m a hyperactive person, and I’ve never experienced anywhere like Brazil. People there are born to enjoy life and dance, not just during Carnival but all the time. There’s always something fun going on. My energy never runs out there; I meet people from all parts of society, learn new things, and dance to various types of music. Last but not least, there’s a party called Selvagem, probably the best party ever in the world.
