Lara Sayılgan Showcases Her Latest Photography Work ‘Borders’ & ‘Birds’ At Contemporary Istanbul
Photographer Lara Sayılgan is participating in the 19th Contemporary Istanbul, which will take place at Tersane İstanbul between October 24-27, with the gallery Vision Art Platform, where she is an artist. Lara Sayılgan, who will be participating in the fair for the third time this year, will be at the fair with her installation work called “Borders” created with mixed techniques and a photo print called “Birds”.

Lara Sayılgan states: ‘My work called “Borders” is an installation work that I created with photo print, wire and acrylic writing application on plexiglass, measuring 1 meter 20 centimeters by 80 centimeters. With this photograph that I took in the Military Region of Nusaybin, which is connected to the Syrian border in the province of Mardin, I wanted to convey the feelings such as “hope, despair, happiness and sadness” that all borders in the world create on people and to be able to include different geographies where harsh living conditions are experienced into the flow of life of people living in big cities.’

My work titled “Birds” is a photographic print of migratory birds in Ağrı measuring 1 meter 20 centimeters by 85 centimeters. I wanted to exhibit this photograph as my second work because I believe that birds give hope and happiness to people of all ages. I think that both of my works emotionally support each other.”
