Koray Cengiz is a YouTube influencer living in Hamburg. After finishing his aeronautical engineering studies at Istanbul Technical University in Turkey, he moved to Germany for his master’s studies. Koray is an aerospace engineer with a specialisation in production technologies and management. On the other hand, he has his own YouTube channel. His social media career started years ago while he was traveling a lot, as a student. After moving to Hamburg, he creates his life-style YouTube channel to help new generation by sharing his experiences. Koray takes a tutorial videos about fashion, style, sports and life-style in general.
What was your favourite toy that you still remember from your childhood? Why?
It is definitely Furby. I cried a lot to my parents to have one because they were quite expensive. I think the skills of this toy were quite interesting. I could even play hide-and-seek.
What is your dressing style about?
Well… I do not have only one specific style. Actually, I have two different worlds: one as a guy who works in a big corporate company, another one as a guy who likes festivals and techno parties. I am more into simple, lean and comfortable outfits with matching colours. I even like to wear business casual.
What is the coolest piece in your wardrobe?
I think my Carhartt WIP oversize brown cord shirt. I just love it.
If there is any style icon you follow, who is it and why?
I like the style of Alexandre Mattiussi. Also, Adam Gallagher’s style on IG.
What is your favourite decorative object in your house?
My plants…They make my flat more cozy. Sunday mornings are for them!
Which neighbourhood in Hamburg is your favourite one? Why?
My favourite ones are: Sternschanze, Ottensen and Eimsbüttel… It is a really difficult question! But If I have to choose only one, that would be Sternschanze. It is a little hipster like in Berlin style but with full of nice people and great places.
What is your favourite place in Hamburg? Why?
My favourite place is Planten un Blomen. It is one of the biggest city parks in the middle of Hamburg. When the weather is good, it is perfect for taking a walk or jogging. In summer, I spend a lot of time there with my friends. Sunbathing!
What was the coolest country, city or place to have the best fun ever? What did you do?
Definitely, Scotland. I had a chance to live for one year in Glasgow. I was an exchange student. During that great times, I had a great opportunity and time to discover the whole country from south to north; including highlands, beautiful castles, amazing nature and warmest people.
How do you spent your home stay these days?
In the beginning, I was so scared of being alone at home. Then, I remembered, that I had tons of things that I always wanted to do or always postponed… On the other hand, I have to do home-office from Monday to Friday until 4 pm because of my current full-time job. After work, I cook or bake for the rest of the day. In addition to this, I am trying to exercise every single day, whether it is working out at home or jogging in the city. I am not bored at all. I love this “Me, myself, and I” time.
