INTERVIEW / ALEXANDER KOKO
What was your favorite toy that you still remember from your childhood? Why?
When I was little, the Furbys were very popular. I remember trying so hard to get my parents to buy me a Furby. When I finally got a Furby, I took it everywhere I went. At that time, it was very impressive that a toy could talk, plus Furby’s eyes were very beautiful!
What is your dressing style?
I think my style is smart casual. I used to try so hard to look incredibly good and never go out in sweatsuits. Sweatsuits have taken an important place in my closet recently, and I think I will continue to use them for a long time.
What is the coolest piece in your wardrobe?
I have snakeskin pants. I haven’t had a chance to wear them too much, but I think they are very cool!
If there is any style icon you follow, who is it and why?
There are brands, not someone I follow or look up to. Heliot Emil, Berluti, Prada etc.. But to tell one person, I like Martin Ehmele’s style. I think he lives in Vienna. I like all the pieces he wears.

What is your favorite decorative object in your house?
I have a vase from Zara Home. I love it because it looks so beautiful wherever I put it. And it was my best friend’s New Year’s present. It’s very special to me.
Which neighborhood in İstanbul is your favorite one? Why?
I love Asmalimescit in Beyoglu area. Because my old office was in Galata we used to spenda lot of time on the streets of Asmalimescit. For me, it’s a neighborhood full of memories and great times. I also remember and miss the older stats of both Asmalimescit and Beyogluneighborhoods.
What is your favorite place in İstanbul? Why?
Anywhere, as long as I’m with people I love. They are the ones that make Istanbul meaningful to me, but we are very separate, especially in this pandemic process. so even if we sit with them on the sidewalk right now, it will be my favorite place.
What was the coolest country, city or place to have the best fun ever? What did you do?
I’m in love with Kas. I’ll definitely go there every summer, and it’s the only place where I feel like I’m really taking a full vacation; both relaxing and having fun. Specifically, what I do for fun will remain confidential. 😈
