Tuğberk Selçuk’s “Baby Mafia” Solo Exhibition Brings Society & Authority Face To Face
Placing the manifesto “This is How Painting is Done in Such a Violent and Fiery Era!” at its core, artist Tuğberk Selçuk continues to present contemporary dimensions and language in his works without compromising his critical and provocative perspective. One of the prominent figures of contemporary art, Tuğberk Selçuk, will meet art enthusiasts with his 10th solo exhibition “Baby Mafia” at Karaköy Frankhan on May 28-29, 2024, with the support of Selectist. The exhibition invites contemporary art lovers to an extraordinary experience where Selçuk will unveil his latest and provocative works.
During the two-day pop-up exhibition titled “Baby Mafia,” viewers will dive into a thought-provoking world filled with imagination, exploring the contrast between innocence and power, where babies are depicted as the brains of a hidden underworld. Selçuk’s art challenges traditional narratives, inviting audiences to interact with a fascinating and surreal commentary on society and authority. Following his previous exhibitions that questioned themes such as reality, mind, and perception, this latest conceptual series offers visitors an interactive experience with objects. In this latest exhibition, Selçuk predominantly uses 9mm casings. Having opened nine solo exhibitions since 2012 and participated in many group exhibitions in cities like London, Seoul, Milan, and Basel, Tuğberk Selçuk once again draws attention with the “Baby Mafia” exhibition.
Exhibition Address: Frankhan, Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa, Kemankeş Cd. No:73, 34425 Beyoğlu/İstanbul
