Cool People: Interview With Fashion Photographer Kemal Dedecan
KEMAL DEDECAN / FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER
Kemal is a talented fashion photographer from Istanbul. Kemal got involved with photography after moving from Eskisehir city to Istanbul to look for his dreamS to come true in the fashion industry. His first debut was to shoot for Istanbul Fashion Week. Currently Kemal is shooting with world’s top models for different magazines & publications. He continues to work very hard and with great passion to become very successful because fashion photography is not a dream for him but a philosophy.

What was your favorite toy that you still remember from your childhood? Why?
My favorite toy was Action Man that I played all the time during my childhood. Also I still keep all my childhood library with different books that shaped my character.
What is your dressing style?
I am wearing mostly vintage pieces that makes my dressing style look more relaxed & cool.
What is the coolest piece in your wardrobe?
An oversized shirt from COS.
If there is any style icon you follow, who is it and why?
A fashion blogger Alberto Ortiz Rey has a very cool style that I like to follow. And also I like all the tones & looks from Jacquemus.
What is your favorite decorative object in your house?
A painting of Lana Del Rey that is hanging in my house.
Which neighborhood in İstanbul is your favorite one? Why?
Yenikoy is the best place to enjoy its quiet old streets and Nisantasi is my other favorite neighbourhood with a great energy!
What is your favorite place in İstanbul? Why?
Backyard in Bebekoy and Soho House in Taksim.
What was the coolest country, city or place to have the best fun ever? What did you do?
Vatican city! I explored all the historical art scenes with my artistic eye and that was a great experience for me as a photographer.
