MBFWI DIGITAL: Y-PLUS SS 2020-21 COLLECTION
Editor’s Notes: ALEXANDER KOKOSKERIYA
For the fist time ever, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul was streamed totally digital. Y-PLUS presents its SS 2020-21 Collection with the modern urban warriors this time.
The traces of genderlessness, agelessness and avant-gardism are found again in the DNA of the entire collection. Creative director and designer of the brand Yakup Bicer continues to blend the symbols and heritage of Turkish culture with modern pieces. We see shalvares, kimonos, transparent shirts and t-shirts, printed shirts and trousers, parachute bomber jackets and cargo pants, pilot overalls and multi-pocket zipper coats all embodied in a sharp and very strong silhouettes. Black, which is the main tone of the entire collection, is sometimes accompanied by navy blues, snowy whites and pale grays. Among the most prominent accessories are leather bandanas, amulet-looking small wallets and velcro sandals.
